The TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has now replaced the BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
For holders of the BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training we offer an upgrade to bridge the requirements between the old qualification and the new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA) through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

What employment opportunities will I have?
This course is designed to provide the necessary skills for teaching at TAFE or a private Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The course also provides the skills for workplace trainers in the delivery and assessment of a variety of courses.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
You will gain skills in training and assessment.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
This qualification is a prerequisite for Diploma of Vocational Education and Training Practice or the Diploma of Training and Assessment.
Can I apply?
If you are Indigenous and interested in a career in training and facilitation, you may apply. If you are involved in the facilitation of training you may need to upgrade your training qualification. We recommend that professional trainers in Australia complete Certificate IV in Training and Assessment which is a Nationally Recognised Government Accredited Qualification.

How will I be selected for this course?
You will be invited to attend an information session.
You need to have a vocational skill which you can teach and assess, fluent spoken and written
English, and basic computer skills - word processing and internet use.

How long is the course?
This course runs part time for the duration of one year. Classes are held 2 nights per week - Mondays and Tuesday from 6-8.30pm.

You will study at the Indigenous Education Centre, Broadmeadows campus.
What costs and other fees should I expect?

How will I be assessed?
Through up-front assessments flexible delivery to suit the needs of indigenous learners. This course is facilitated by experienced and qualified Indigenous assessors at the Indigenous Education Centre for indigenous learners.
