For people not eligible for Government funding the fee in 2012 is $2,291 and concession is not available on this fee. For people who are eligible for Government funding the fee in 2012 is $635 and a concession may apply.

What employment opportunities will I have?

The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is designed to provide the necessary skills in training and assessment for the VET sector.
And is the mandated qualification, for teaching at TAFE or a private Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

This qualification also provides the skills for workplace trainers in the delivery and assessment of a variety of courses including short courses or non- accredited courses.

What skills will I have when I complete this course?

You will gain skills and knowledge in training and assessment and of the Vocational Education and Training sector.

What qualifications will I receive?

On successful completion of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment you will be awarded the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

What opportunities for further studies will I have?

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a prerequisite for 21697VICDiploma of Vocational Education and Training Practice or the TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment.

Can I apply?

If you are wanting to undertake this course, you will need to have:
- the ability to communicate clearly when speaking and writing in English
- Well developed computer skills in word processing and internet use.

People with experience in training and assessment should enquire about recognition of prior learning.

How will I be selected for this course?

You will be invited to attend Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Information Session. You will be asked to undertake a LLN/skill test in word processing and internet use.

Should you have any questions prior to the Information Session please call 9099 4108. Please note there is no closing date for applications for this course.

How long is the course?

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment runs over 1 semester (one day per week) - full time or 2 semesters (one evening per week) - part time.Please register your expression of interest to study.

Where and how can I study?

Programs for 2012 will be offered as follows:
- Docklands - evening - to be confirmed.
- Essendon - evening - commencing mid-year.
- Essendon - day - commencing mid-year.
- Broadmeadows - day - commencing mid-year.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed to determine if you have achieved the skills and knowledge required to meet the requirement of TAE40110 Certificate IV Training and Assessment etc. at the commencement of the program. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will be advised in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided with this information before enrolment.

If you already are an experienced trainer, Skills Recognition (credit) is available. For advice on Skills Recognition assessment and gap training please call Sylvia Kunig on 9099 4108 or email skunig@kangan.edu.au.

The Skills Recognition fee for this course with the units listed is $1060. However if RPL applicant is eligible for Government funding the fee is $95.
