Course overview
Currently this course is only delivered in industry or through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. This course will train you to work with minimal supervision in a modern logistics facility.
The department offers the Certificate IV in Logistics and Supply Chain Principles to students who wish to study a logistics course on a part time basis.

This course is designed to provide the necessary skills and knowledge for supervisory positions, or for those aspiring to be in a supervisory position in the warehousing and storage industry.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
You will gain skills in efficient logistics management, leadership, and Occupational Health and Safety.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Warehousing and Storage). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework, this program is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
Students completing this qualification will be eligible to apply for entry to the Diploma of Logistics program.

A pre-requisite for this course is a Certificate III in Transport and Logistics (Warehousing and Storage), or equivalent. Applicants who have the appropriate work experience may apply for skills recognition.

How will I be selected for this course?
You will be required to attend an interview with the course coordinator, teaching staff member conducting the RPL interview, or trainer responsible for industry training.
How long is the course?
The length of this course will vary depending on units selected and type of delivery. It is typically delivered over a period of between 6- 12 months.
Students with existing skills and knowledge at this level can apply for a skills recognition for this qualification. Currently the fee for full course skills recognition is $55.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will know in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided this information.
What will I study?
Given this course will only be delivered in industry; the course content will be developed in consultation with the employer. Content typically includes: Organise Transport of Freight or Goods, Collect, Analyse and Present Workplace Data and Information, Develop and Maintain a Safe Workplace, Implement and Coordinate Accident Emergency Procedures, Facilitate Work Teams, Coordinate Quality Customer Service.
