This course aims to improve reading, writing and numeracy skills as well as employability skills and may give access to further certificates in general education for adults, further education and training opportunities.

You will gain skills in goal setting, writing, reading, numeracy, listening and speaking. The course is designed to increase your confidence as a reader, writer and speaker of English.

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the (full course title). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

This course prepares you for entry into the next level of the Certificate in General education for Adults (CGEA).

How will I be selected for this course?
All applicants will need to attend an interview to determine current language and literacy levels and to ensure placement in a suitable class.

The course spans 6 months.
Where and how can I study?
You will study at the Broadmeadows campus. This course is only available during the day.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will know in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be given this information.
Additional comments
You must make an appointment for an interview with the Department secretay. This course has a mid-year intake.
