This course provides an advanced level of corporate understanding. The course prepares you for running a business, office supervision and office management. You will be ready for a top-level administrative career or further studies, with possible credit transfers at university.

What employment opportunities will I have?
This course will train you for work in a supervisory or middle management role, or assisting professionals in office administrative or management positions such as office supervisor, office manager, personal assistant, or executive assistant.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
You will gain skills in the business procedures of an office and develop a range of office management skills. These skills include managing meetings and conferences, planning and reviewing administration systems, managing business document design and development, planning and developing business websites, managing recruitment selection and induction programs.
As an elective, you will have the opportunity to choose computerised payroll or manage people performance.
What qualifications will I receive?
When you successfully complete this course you will be awarded the Diploma of Business Administration. This is a nationally recognised course as part of the Australian Qualifications Framework.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
You may be eligible to continue on to higher level studies, such as an Advanced Diploma, or an undergraduate degree. As a graduate of this course, you may receive credits towards a university degree in business or commerce.
Can I apply?
You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed Certificate IV in Business Administration, or have an approved equivalent industry skills and experience.

If you are a year 12 student or have recently completed VCE, you can apply through VTAC (Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre). Details of the application process can be obtained through the VTAC website or through the VTAC Guide which is available from leading newsagents and libraries in July.
How will I be selected for this course?
You will be selected for this course if you have successfully completed a Certificate IV in Business Administration. Other applicants need to attend an interview and undertake a comprehension test to assess suitability for the course.
How long is the course?
Six months of full-time study.
Where and how can I study?
Training is divided between work placement and daytime classes at the Broadmeadows campus.
How will I be assessed?
You will need to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required for the course. You will be assessed by written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will know in advance the type and dates of assessment . If needed, you will have the opportunity for reassessment.

What must you bring to enrolment?
- Letter confirming your offer of a place in the course
- Proof of Australian citizenship/residency (birth certificate, passport, medicare card or citizenship documents)
- Proof of age if under the age of 20 as at 1st of January, 2011 (birth certificate, driver licence, passport)

You must satisfactorily complete eight (8) units of competency. (See the list of modules).
