What employment opportunities will I have?
If you are looking for a career or a promotion in operations management at a senior level of supervision or management this course will suit you. You would be equipped to work in planning, purchasing, materials management, work study, industrial engineering or occupational health and safety.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
As a graduate you will be able to perform, supervise and manage the duties of a service, production, or operations manager in a medium to large organisation.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Diploma of Business (Operations Management). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
Further study at advanced diploma level can be undertaken.
Can I apply?
There are no set prerequisites for this course. However, it is recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this program. You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course and the satisfactory completion of the work requirements (eligibility to transfer); or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)

How long is the course?
This is a 12 month course on a part-time basis.
Where and how can I study?
Classes are held at the Broadmeadows campus twice weekly after normal working hours. ie. part-time study.
How will I be assessed?
A mixture of practical tutorials, project work and written tests will be used in assessing this course. Assessment is a necessary part of this program, to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge set out in the competency standards. You will be informed in advance about the assessment procedure and criteria. There will also be opportunity for appeal and reassessment and you will be provided with this information.
What will I study?
You will study subjects encompassing areas of manufacturing, quality, OHS, management, planning, industrial relations, maintenance, inventory control and a broad range of other key business aspects.
