Be a self-starter with New Business Assistance with NEIS

Do your clients have a desire to start their own business? Take advantage of the New Business Assistance with NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme) at Kangan Institute’s Business Enterprise Centre (BEC).

New Business Assistance with NEIS is a Commonwealth Government program aimed at helping eligible social security recipients with launching their own business.

As part of the program, your clients will learn about small business management, gain skills in developing a business plan and obtain mentor support to help them with their transition into self-employment. The program also offers one year of income support (approximately $510 per fortnight) to participants.

Your clients are eligible if they are a registered jobseeker with Centrelink and receive income support from social security. Applicants need to submit a viable business proposal when enrolling for the program.

Kangan Institute delivers the New Business Assistance with NEIS program in Melbourne's inner-eastern, western and north-western suburbs. Our regular training locations are in Essendon and Richmond, with outreach locations within the cities of Moreland, Hume and Brimbank in line with demand for training.

The program is available throughout the year, with new classes commencing every four weeks.
