Youth Work
As a Youth Worker you will provide support, information and advice to young people on emotional, financial, recreational, health, housing and other social welfare matters. This qualification will also help prepare you as youth worker who develops and facilitates programs for young people through a range of community based programs. Generally work is undertaken through employment in community, government and youth sector agencies.

Work within a community development framework; plan and conduct group activities; work effectively with young people in youth work context; respectfully engaging and supporting young people to create opportunities in their lives, and providing a safe and healthy environment.
Career Opportunities
Gain employment in positions which include Youth Worker, Residential Housing Worker, Crisis Support Worker, Youth Recreation Worker and Youth Justice Worker. This course may lead to employment in local councils, Department of Human Services, community-based organisations, youth specific agencies and housing services.

Prerequisites
- There are no set education prerequisites for these courses. However, you will be assessed to ensure that you have the have satisfactory numeracy, literacy and verbal communication skills to undertake the course.
- Applicants must be over 20 years of age with proficient spoken and written communication.
- Applicants must obtain a current and valid National Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (WCC) prior to commencing the course.
