Important information for students considering a VET FEE-HELP Loan
VET Student Loans from 1 January 2017
The Commonwealth government has announced a re-design of the current VET FEE-HELP loan scheme from 1 January 2017.
The current VET FEE-HELP scheme will cease 31 December 2016. The new VET Student Loans program will replace the existing scheme from 1 January 2017.
Course eligibility for VET Student Loans will be limited to courses that have a high national priority, meet industry needs, contribute to addressing skills shortages and lead to employment outcomes.
Students who have an existing VET FEE-HELP loan have the option to continue accessing VET FEE-HELP for units with a census date to 31 December 2017. The Department of Education and Training will contact you asking if you wish to continue accessing VET FEE-HELP.
Students must opt-in before returning to study - that is before attending any classes to continue a course - and no later than 31 March 2017
