Indigenous Education Centre (IEC) scholarship

Selection criteria.

  • Must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • Must be eligible for Government subsidies
  • Applicants under the age of 18 need to obtain parental/guardian consent before submitting a scholarship application.
  • Application does not mean the applicant will automatically be granted a scholarship. Your application does not guarantee you a place in your selected course.
  • Deferring the course will make the scholarship void.
  • The scholarship is to be used for one course and cannot be transferred to another course.
  • Scholarships are not redeemable for cash.
  • If a student fails a unit of competency from the course, they will incur any enrolment or other fees associated with resitting that unit.

Tuition, Student Services Fee, materials (where applicable)

  • Student will need to attend an interview
  • Student may also be required to provide proof. i.e. Aboriginality Check. (More information at
  • Unsuccessful applicants may be informed by the Indigenous Education Centre (IEC) as to why they were unsuccessful. However should you require further clarification you may want to contact the IEC directly.
