Fashion success Andy Truong unveils his world

ANDY Truong

Meet Kangan Institute’s fashion graduate Andy Truong, fashion designer and MYER personal shopper/stylist at just nineteen years of age, and living proof that the right education, combined with talent and perseverance, can set you on the pathway to a brilliant future.

Centre of Fashion

Ever since I was little I've wanted to get into the fashion industry. I really like designing and making my own clothes and accessories, so when I found out the VET in Schools program offers a course in fashion design and technology, I applied right away. Kangan Institute has just spent a lot of money building the new Centre of Fashion @ Richmond, so it's a great place to learn all about the fashion industry and I've even discovered some skills I didn't know I had.

Certificate II in Automotive Studies

The Automotive Centre of Excellence is an awesome place to learn about the auto industry. It's right in the city and has the equipment that I would be using in real mechanics workshops. I've just finished the Certificate II in Automotive Studies and am hoping to start a pre-apprenticeship full-time next year.

Adrian Jones completed our VET in Schools program in carpentry and in the process represented Kangan Institute and Victoria at the WorldSkills competition in 2012.
