Centre for Fashion and Creative Industries

Kanagn Institute’s fashion facility began as an exciting base for young designers to hone their skills.

Since undergoing a $4.6 million makeover, it’s now become one of the premier fashion centres for experience and education.

Centre of Fashion

Offering a unique boutique experience, you can select from an exciting array of course options such as becoming a designer, fashion buyer, visual merchandiser, hairdresser or beautician.

Complementing our fashion precinct campus is the new Industry Hub, which houses the latest in digital technology. This allows great scope to make network connections and work on real-life projects.

Our campus is conveniently located in Richmond’s fashion zone and is home to many of the biggest fashion houses in Australia. This includes Dottie, Just Jeans, Peter Alexander, Portman’s and Jay Jay Perrie Cutten, County Road, Tommy Hilfiger, Sportscraft, Bardot, Collette Dinnigan, Alana Hill and Bendon Lingerie and Table 8.

Minutes from Richmond train station, tram and onsite campus parking, access is easy to Melbourne’s most popular shopping strips of Bridge Road, Toorak Road, Chapel Street, Lygon and Melbourne’s CBD.

Aside from a makeshift catwalk and showcase area, our fashion centre also features areas devoted to:

  • Digital technology
  • Design
  • Patternmaking
  • Visual Merchandising
  • Hair and Beauty
  • Millinery
  • Textile Library
  • Product development
  • Open plan learning centre
  • Fashion business
  • Retail
