This workshop will explore the basics of digital printing and

what you need to know to get started.

If you are thinking of entering the world of Digital Textile

Printing then this course is a crucial step for you. Having

a solid understanding of how a print goes from a file to a

finished textile will ensure you gain the best result for your

artwork. Understanding what a supplier goes through to

create a textile reproduction will allow you to ask the right

questions, provide the right details to a printer in order to

optimise results. The workshop will demystify costs involved,

time frames, processes and output expectations.

A focus on key areas will include colour theory, pattern

design, artwork set up and file types, printing methodology,

inks and dyes, printing machinery and trouble

shooting.The

theory of print will be discussed and examples provided. To

support the theory, participants will also create their own

Digital Print Product.

3D BODY SCANNING

This workshop will provide participants with a thorough

understanding of what 3D body scanning is and how it can

be used to improve fit in garment development. You will have

the opportunity to see 3D Body Scanner in action and review

the output information of scan data. This workshop has been

designed to present information to participants so they can

easily apply the knowledge back to their business. What 3D

body scanning is how it is being used and what it means

to the Textile and Fashion Industry will be discussed. Each

participant will have the opportunity to be body scanned.

During the workshop participants will be presented with

collated measurements of a size range and they will then

have the opportunity to analyse the data and think about

how it could be used in relationship to a garment fit. A case

study will be presented on how small businesses have been

implementing the technology. This knowledge will be applied

to developing your own individual pattern blocks. Students

will understand how to identify and compensate for body

idiosyncrasies and will leave with the knowledge necessary to

create a customised block for individual client fit.
