This course allows operators to work safely on roads, understand VicRoads laws and to direct traffic safely. The course also covers installation of road safety signs and standard equipment in accordance with the relevant government legislation.
The course covers the delivery of the nationally accredited units Control Traffic with a Slow/Stop Bat unit (RIIWHS205D) and Implement Traffic Management Plan (RIIWHS302D). This course allows operators to work safely setting up traffic control equipment and directing traffic around road works. This course is appropriate for construction sites and local council works.
This course is delivered over one day, from 8am – 4pm.
Once you have successfully completed your course, you will receive a Course Completion Card and Kangan Institute Statement of Attainment. VicRoads strongly recommends that a card be renewed every three (3) years.
What you receive at the completion of the course?
You will receive a Statement of Attainment - SCATCMC4 Traffic Management.
Pre-requisite & eligibility requirements
Applicants must be over 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must sign enrolment form on the day.
For safety reasons, covered footwear must be worn (no thongs or sandals). Please bring Photo ID and a pen.
Kangan Institute's main campus is located approximately 20km from the CBD. Broadmeadows houses purpose-built specialist training facilities such as the Aviation Industry Training Centre, the Transport and Logistics Centre and the Polymer Engineering Centre. It also houses the Gunung-Willam-Balluk Learning Centre for Indigenous students, as well as our fully licensed, hospitality training facility, Richards Restaurant.
The campus is a five-minute walk from the Broadmeadows Town Hall, and is directly opposite Broadmeadows Shopping Centre. Parking available on campus.
