Course Overview

Our beauty therapy training is developed in consultation with L’Oreal Australia to ensure that our graduates learn skills that are relevant to the needs of employers and clients in the beauty industry. 

Through our partnership with L’Oreal Australia, our top performing graduates have opportunities to find employment working with brands such as Lancome, Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Kiehls, Ralph Lauren, Shu Uemura, Cacharel, Clarisonic, Diesel, Viktor & Rolf and Urban Decay.

University pathway
When you graduate from the Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115), you'll be eligible for guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Dermal Sciences at Victoria University and 84 credits (which is equivalent to approximately 10 months study).  Read more about our university pathways here

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will know in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be given this information.

What will I study?

You will be studying the Diploma of Beauty Therapy and gaining specialist skills in a range of beauty services and treatments.

What skills will I have when I complete this course?

With expert guidance from our experienced and talented trainers, within this 12 month full-time course, you will develop advanced skills in areas such as:

- Advanced facial treatments
- Massage and body treatments (including aromatherapy, hot stone therapy and Indian head massage)
- Waxing
- Manicure and pedicure treatments
- Advice on and selling of retail skin care and cosmetic products

What qualifications will I receive?

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115).  As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

What opportunities for further studies will I have?

When you graduate from the Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115), you'll be eligible for guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Dermal Sciences at Victoria University and 84 credits (which is equivalent to approximately six months study).
