How to Apply at Kangan Institute

There are several different ways you can apply for one of our nationally accredited courses. Please check under the heading 'How do I apply?' on the information page for your chosen course to see whether your application is made online through the Kangan Institute webpage, through Direct Entry to Kangan Institute, or through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).

Online Applications

Some Kangan Institute courses accept online applications. If the 'Apply Online' button appears on the course’s information page, you can submit your application online. (Please note that if you use the online application facility to apply for a course, it is an application only, not an offer of a place).

Apply online by following these steps:

  • i) Submit an application online.

First, click the ‘Apply Online’ button on your course’s information page. This will bring up a short application form. Fill in all of your details, and click the ‘Submit’ button. A Kangan department will assess whether you meet the requirements for the course. If you are successful, you will be sent an e-mail with an offer to enrol in the course.

  • ii) Enrol in your course online.

The enrolment offer that you are sent via e-mail will include a link and a password to our enrolment portal. Use the link and password to access the enrolment portal. Complete each page and click the ‘submit’ button.

  • iii) Go to a customer service centre to pay your fees and have your eligibility documents verified.

Once you have completed the enrolment portal, you will need to come to the customer service centre at one of our campuses to finalise your enrolment. Finalise your enrolment by paying your fees and having your eligibility documents verified. The documents that you need to bring are:

  • Proof of Australian citizenship, residency or visa status (birth certificate, passport or citizenship documents)
  • Proof of age ONLY if under the age of 20 on January 1st of the year that you begin your course (birth certificate/extract, driver’s licence, passport or appropriate student card)
  • (If applicable) Current Health Care Concession Card
  • (If applicable) Evidence of asylum seeker status or temporary protection visa (TPV)
