Course Overview

If you dream of running your own real estate agency or operating as a licensed real estate agent, then our Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) is your first step in making this goal a reality.

This property services course is the qualification prescribed by the Business Licensing Authority (BLA), a division of Consumer Affairs Victoria, as the educational requirement to apply for a real estate licence in Victoria.

Our nationally accredited Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) course covers the core units on risk, current legislation and ethical requirements as well as lots of practical skills integral in day-to-day real estate operations.

Classes are part-time and held during the evenings. You can apply and begin studying at anytime throughout the year.

You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will be advised in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided this information.

What will I study?

You will study the the practical aspects of building client relationships, appraising and managing properties, leasing and listing properties for sale, managing tenancy agreements and conducting an auction.

Can I apply?

To undertake this course it is expected that you are currently employed in the real estate industry and have completed the agent's representative course. To obtain a full agent's license, you will have at least 12 months experience working in the industry. It is also expected that you will have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course.

Where and how can I study?

The Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) is offered at our largest campus in Broadmeadows.

As a large educational provider, our students have access to a myriad of student support services and resources as well as our very own Employment Centre to ensure that your study experience is a positive one.

What employment opportunities will I have?

Successful completion of this course, along with evidence of 12 months experience working as a registered agent's representative will enable the qualification holder to run their own real estate agency or ghain employment as a real estate agent.

What skills will I have when I complete this course?

You will gain skills in all aspects of work required to operate as a licenced Real Estate Agent.

What qualifications will I receive?

On successful completion of the course (along with prior completion of the agent's representative course) you will be awarded the Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

What opportunities for further studies will I have?

This course will lead to higher level studies at diploma level, with the possibility of credit available into the Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management).
