This course prepares you to perform mechanical work in the automotive light vehicle service and repair industry. This course may lead to employment as a Light Vehicle Mechanical Technician. 

If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course. You must be registered with an Australian Apprenticeship Network and have a signed training contract.

Qualifications

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR30620). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

Entry Requirements
Can I Apply?

This course is available through the apprenticeship and traineeship pathway. You are eligible if you are employed or have been offered a new apprenticeship or traineeship in your chosen field. You must be registered with an Australian Apprenticeship Network and have a signed contract. 

Also, it is recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course.

OR

You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course and the satisfactory completion of the work requirements (eligibility to transfer); or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)

If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.
