Completions

Completions

To successfully complete an apprenticeship or traineeship, it is essential that the apprentice or trainee is assessed as competent in every aspect of their training. This process covers both the practical, on-the-job training undertaken within the workplace, and the theoretical off-the-job training provided by Kangan Institute. Competency must be demonstrated in both settings, ensuring that all requirements outlined in the training plan and qualification have been successfully fulfilled. Formal completion of the apprenticeship or traineeship can only occur once competency in both components has been confirmed.

Once the apprentice or trainee has finished all off-the-job training with Kangan Institute, a letter is sent to the employer requesting their final sign-off. This correspondence will include a proposed final completion date. The employer is required to review and agree upon this date, which may align with the Nominal Completion Date or be brought forward if all training conditions have been met ahead of schedule.

Once the employer confirms the final date, the Training Contract will officially come to an end on the stated date as both the apprenticeship and the relevant qualification are deemed completed at the same time.

Kangan Institute will then notify the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) of the completion to officially close the Training Contract.

Certificates and Trade Papers

Upon successful completion of an apprenticeship or traineeship, Kangan Institute will issue formal certification to the apprentice or trainee, confirming their competence.

Once completed an apprentice can apply to be issued with Trade Papers to provide clearer recognition of trade outcomes. A Trade Paper is a formal, commemorative certificate issued by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), administered by VETASSESS, to apprentices who have completed a recognised apprenticeship and the relevant trade qualification through Bendigo Kangan Institute.

Graduation

All apprentices and trainees who successfully complete will be invited along with their employer to attend the Kangan Institute Annual Graduation Ceremony.
