Supervision

Supervision

Employers are responsible for supervising the provision of effective and appropriate supervision of apprentices and trainees on the job. The person supervising the apprentices and trainees must be suitably qualified or skilled. Supervision is generally divided into direct, indirect or broad/remote supervision.

To assess the level of supervision required, an employer can refer to an apprentice or trainees Training Plan for competencies achieved.

In some industries such as the electrical industry, Energy Safe Victoria has mandated specific supervision requirements of specific tasks and supervision ratios.
