Training Plan
A Negotiated Training Plan outlines all aspects of both 'on-the-job' and 'off-the-job' training which is agreed upon by the employer, apprentice or trainee and Kangan Institute. This document serves as a record of the training and assessment requirements for employers, as well as apprentices or trainees.
As a live document, the Training Plan provides a list of the units that are needed for the qualification. It contains the proposed commencement and completion dates and is used to monitor progress and record achieved competencies to support effective delivery of the apprenticeship or traineeship. It should be updated as units are completed over the duration of the apprenticeship or traineeship. This document can be amended in agreeance with all parties where necessary.
Extensions
If an apprentice or trainee cannot complete their training in line with the nominal completion date of the Training Contract, an option will be presented to both the employer and the apprentice or trainee to extend the time on the Training Contract to enable them the extra time to complete. The Training Plan and delivery will be adjusted accordingly to the new nominal completion date.
Suspension
Occasionally, there may be a need to pause the Training Contract potentially due to illness, travel, extended leave or a downturn in work. Suspending a training contract places a pause the apprenticeship or traineeship. Suspensions must have a fixed time on the pause, noting that all parties need to agree to a suspension of a training contract.
If you cannot agree, contact the Apprentice Connect Australia Provider listed on your Training Contract for help.
