How Long Does a VCE VM Take?
VCE VM is delivered over two years and combines secondary studies with vocational education, often completed at TAFE or similar institutions. Students study Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related Skills and Personal Development Skills, alongside a VET qualification.
VCE VM History
VCE VM replaced VCAL in 2023 and now sits within the VCE framework, meaning students graduate with a VCE certificate. The pathway is designed for students who may not thrive in a traditional exam-focused environment.
What Your Child Can Do with VCE VM
After completing VCE VM, students can move into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education and training, employment, or university through non-ATAR pathways.
Benefits for families include practical learning suited to different learning styles, reduced exam pressure, early career exploration, and strong post-school pathways.
