Centre for Health and Nursing Open Day to be held on 10th August

Kangan Institute's Centre for Health and Nursing Open Day will be held on Saturday 10th August to provide aspiring health practitioners with a taste of a healthy career. Located at Moonee Ponds, the centre features a suite of modern healthcare equipment and simulated environments to deliver accredited training in health services assistance, nursing, pathology, disability, aged care and more. Courses are offered part-time or full-time, and focus on getting students job-ready through practical work placements, employer networking sessions and training by industry experienced teachers. Janet Dilley, manager at the Centre for Health and Nursing, says the demand for quality health training has increased over the years in line with the industry's growing needs. "According to DEEWR's Skills Shortages - Victoria report published December 2012, health care and social assistance is now the largest industry by employment with a 12 percent share of the workforce - Melbourne, in particular, saw the largest growth of all capital cities over the last ten years," said Janet. "We're committed to meeting the demands of this thriving industry and our courses - which combine classroom and online learning with hands-on, practical work experience - are immensely popular with students seeking real job outcomes." Individuals interested in pursuing a health career are invited to learn more about their options at information sessions held throughout the Open Day.
