Logistics conversation to be held 11th July in partnership with Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia

Kangan Institute and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA) are collaborating to host a seminar to address the latest changes within the Australian logistics industry. All are welcome to attend - this is a free event that will be held at the Department of Transport Building, Melbourne. The seminar will explore the way in which globalisation, increased population and outsourcing of Australia's production capacity have resulted in a major increase in the flow of commodities and materials in and out of Australian ports. Australian port operators are now adapting to this significant growth by increasing the size and functionality of their infrastructure; a move that reflects the confidence in the Australian economy to continue to perform at high levels of excellence. Seminar participants will have an opportunity to learn how changes to port operations and new infrastructure will affect their own business and employment opportunities and the Australian economy at large. Guest speakers at the event include: Mr Brian Wilson (Port of Melbourne Corporation), Mr Jeff Potter (National Transport Commission) and Mr John Austen (Department of Infrastructure Australia). When: Thursday 11th July 2013 Time: 6pm - Registration starts 6.30pm - Presentations commence 7.40pm-8.15pm - Q & A 8.15pm-9pm - Networking Where: Department of Transport Building 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (Parking is available on the Bourke St parking station - flat rate after 4pm) Register online on CILTA's website or email admin@cilta.com.au with your name, email address, organisation, position and contact phone number.
