Protected Industrial Action – work stoppages implemented

On Wednesday 12 June 2024, further industrial action in the form of stop work has been planned to take place across Victoria’s twelve public TAFEs.

This action is in support of claims pursued as part of Australian Education Union (AEU) negotiations with the Victorian TAFE Association, for a new enterprise bargaining agreement for teaching staff.

It follows the AEU vote in favour of taking Protected Industrial Action, which began on 22 April 2024.

The stop work action will take place on Wednesday 12 June 2024 across all Kangan Institute campuses, for two hours:

·         11.00 am – 12.00 pm, and

·         1.00 pm – 2.00 pm.

We are doing everything we can to support students and reduce the impact of the stop work action.

We will inform our students and key stakeholders directly via regular communications channels of any impacts and alternative measures we are putting in place to minimise disruptions.

Kangan Institute is committed to working with stakeholders to put in place necessary mitigating measures in response to protected industrial action.

Kangan Institute recognises the right of a team member to choose whether to participate in protected industrial action and respects the right of staff to express their voice.

For enquiries please phone 13 TAFE.
