Talent emerges at Kangan Institute

Talent is emerging from Kangan Institute’s Centre for Fashion and Creative Industries in Richmond and making its way to the runway of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

Five very talented Advanced Diploma of Fashion Design and Technology students will be showing their designs at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week’s MSFW: Emerging runway show on September 6th.

Budding designer Hannah Colefax said the opportunity is awesome and a great way to gain professional exposure.

“This opportunity is far and away one of the most exciting things to come my way,” said Hannah.

“To be able to put on show this collection which has all but consumed me for the past six months is truly amazing.”

The students were selected based on their designs and will construct three complete outfits for the show.

MSFW:Emerging gives up-and-coming designers from Victoria’s most recognised fashion schools the opportunity to show their work at Melbourne’s annual consumer fashion week.

“It is a fantastic opportunity that prepares students for what it is really like to be a professional fashion designer,” said Odile Higgins, Kangan Institute’s Centre for Fashion and Creative Industries manager..

“It’s a great opportunity for our students to gain exposure within the industry before they embark on their careers,” said Odile.
