Our annual Graduation and Award Ceremony is a chance for you to celebrate the successful completion of your studies with classmates, teachers, family and friends. On the day you’ll receive your qualification and take your first step into a bright new future.

Find out all you need to know about Kangan Institute’s Graduation and Awards Ceremony 2014.
The Graduation and Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 25th February 2015.

An automated email following your registration will be sent with information regarding the ceremony and gowning times to be emailed to all attending students.
The ceremony will be held at the Moonee Valley Racing Club (Celebrity Room).

Arriving by tram:
No.59 tram from Elizabeth Street arrives directly at Moonee Ponds junction. MVRC main entrance is a 200m walk.
Arriving by train:
Craigieburn line from Flinders Street Station & Southern Cross station stops at Moonee Ponds Station. MVRC is a 10 min walk down Puckle Street
Driving to MVRC:
Refer to Melway map reference 28 K5.
Complimentary Free parking is available in the Members Car Park. Access via Gate 1 on McPherson Street, Moonee Ponds.
The ceremony spans one afternoon. The schedule for the day is:
Student registration and gowning begins.
Students to be seated (Celebrity Room). Students are to be seated prior to guests.
Doors open for guests.
Ceremony commences, including the presentation of Silver and Gold Medallions in addition to Institute awards.

The graduation fee is $35, which includes the loan of your graduation gown. For diploma and advanced diploma students this cost also includes your stole.
This fee can be paid when you confirm your attendance online or you can pay by cash at a campus Customer Service Centre.
Please note that payments to attend the ceremony are non-refundable.
Please make sure you arrive between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm for gowning
All graduating Kangan Institute students are required to wear a traditional black cloth gown. If you’re a diploma or advanced diploma student you’ll also wear a stole that will be determined by the level of award you are receiving.
You’ll be asked to choose your gown size when you Register your attendance online. The gown size is determined by your height and is intended to be loose fitting.

Please wear smart casual attire under your gown (thongs, sandals, t-shirts or casual wear are not acceptable).
Please take into account that the gowns are black and when worn, open at the front and expose the lower arms. Appropriate footwear is a must as you will need to walk up and down stairs. If you would like to wear traditional dress under your gown you are more than welcome to.
You may leave your coat with us in the gowning area. No valuables are to be left behind. Kangan Institute do not accept responsibility for loss of property.
Please kindly ensure you return your gown before leaving the graduation ceremony.
Each guest is charged $35 and you are welcome to have up to 3 guests max.
Guest tickets should be booked and paid for along with your registration. To reserve your guest tickets you must confirm your attendance online by Friday 06th February 2015.
When confirming your attendance, please let us know if you or your guests have any special requirements in regards to disability.
If you’re an award winner you’ll be notified by mail prior to the ceremony. If you’re also graduating on the day you will be asked to return to the stage to receive your award. Our staff will be on hand to help you on the day.
If you’re graduating with more than one qualification you’ll only need to walk across the stage once. You will receive both your certificates at once.
An external photography company Arthur Reed Photos, will take photos before and after the event and also during the ceremony. You are welcome to take photos with family and friends.
Photos will be available for purchase after the event.
The photographers will be available between 5pm and 6pm and after the event from 9:30pm to 10:30pm. They will be set up right next to the gowning room.
If you or your guests have any special requirements, i.e. disability assistance, seating with a space for baby strollers, please let us know when applying online. You may be asked to arrive earlier so that we can accommodate your request.
