Education Support Scholarship (Prospective Students Only)

The Education Support Scholarship is for students experiencing severe financial difficulties and would struggle to pay their fees without assistance. The Education Support Scholarship provides an opportunity to study a course that may not otherwise be possible.

 

Applications are open throughout the year.

 

Note: The use of Payment Plans need to be properly explored, before scholarships can be provided.

 

Eligible Courses

These scholarships apply to all courses available at Kangan Institute.

 

Eligibility/ Selection Criteria

To be eligible for the Education Support Scholarship, the following criteria is required:

1.       Must be an Australian Citizen, be a Permanent Resident or have an eligible visa 

2.       Provide evidence of financial or personal disadvantage. Disadvantage(s) may include:

a.       financial difficulty or low-socioeconomic status (Centrelink statement, payslips. Bank statements can be used if evidence is

          displayed in a personal statement)

b.       disability or medical condition

c.       delay or interruption to career or studies because of family responsibilities or illness

3.       You have been accepted onto the course

 

Value

This scholarship can provide local students with a waiver or a reduction of their course fees. Course fees are made up of several items, which include both tuition, and non-tuition costs. This scholarship does not assist with stationary or computer equipment required to complete work and assignments. The scholarship amount is determined on a case-by-case basis and is valid for the duration of your study.

 

How to apply

Applicants  are required to complete an online application form and submit it with all supporting documentation before  the course start date. Incomplete applications will be sent back to be completed. Applicants under 18 years of age need to obtain parental/guardian consent, before submitting a scholarship application. Consent form can be downloaded, for completion and must be attached to your scholarship application, at the time of submission.

Applications are accepted anytime from January to December.


Successful applicants will be notified by the Teaching Department within two weeks of receiving the scholarship application.
