For Paris Mignanelli, a career in beauty didn’t begin with certainty - it began with curiosity, self-reflection and the courage to follow what genuinely felt right.
After finishing school during a period of uncertainty, Paris explored different career pathways, searching for something that truly resonated. It wasn’t until she paused and reflected on what she genuinely enjoyed that the answer became clear.
“I realised beauty had always been there,” Paris shares. “From doing makeup with friends to learning about skincare for my own skin - it was something I kept coming back to.”
Encouraged by her family and driven by her own growing interest, Paris decided to take the next step - and enrolled in the Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50121) at Kangan Institute.
From the beginning, Paris found the experience seamless and supportive.
“The enrolment process was really straightforward, and there was always someone available if I had questions,” she says. “That made a big difference starting something new.”
That early support continued throughout her studies, giving her the confidence to fully immerse herself in the course.

“It gave me a huge confidence boost,” Paris says. “To have a global brand like L’Oréal believe in you - it really reinforces that you’re on the right path.”
The scholarship also removed financial pressure, allowing her to focus entirely on her studies.
“I could concentrate on learning and developing my skills without worrying about anything else,” she explains.
More importantly, it strengthened her motivation and commitment.
“It pushed me to work harder and make the most of the opportunity.”
Today, Paris is already building a successful career in the beauty industry.
Working as a Beauty Therapist at For Her. Cosmetic Studio in Yarraville, she delivers a range of services including brows, lashes, facials and advanced skin treatments—applying the foundational skills she developed during her studies.
“The course gave me the confidence to step into the industry,” she says. “You already have the basics—you just build on them in the workplace.”
Her passion for skin has also led her to continue her education, with Paris now studying a Bachelor of Dermal Science, further advancing her expertise.
“I want to specialise in skin and help people feel confident in their own skin,” she says.

Looking back, it’s a decision she’s proud of.
