I’m from Melbourne and I have always had a strong passion for fairness, community, and standing up for what’s right. From a young age, I believed it has always been my purpose to pursue a career where I could support people and give them guidance. I’m grateful that after Year 12 I chose to study the Diploma of Justice (22594VIC), as it was a big step toward turning that passion into a clear and achievable lifelong goal.
Prior to studying the Diploma of Justice, I had completed my secondary education and worked in customer service-based roles, which helped me develop strong communication skills, resilience, and confidence when dealing with a range of people. These experiences, combined with my studies, have strengthened my ability to work professionally, step outside my comfort zone, and adapt in different environments.
The best part of my experience has been the practical and realistic nature of the course. The units pushed me outside my comfort zone and allowed me to develop my knowledge and truly express my passion for the justice system. The units allowed me to think critically, develop strong communication skills, and gain a further understanding of the legal and ethical responsibilities involved in the justice sector. I’ve also really enjoyed my learning environment, as I had such supportive teaching staff who bring real-world experience into the classroom and genuinely want to see students achieve their full potential.
The course has been well and truly rewarding and motivating. One of my goals walking into the Diploma was to get outside my comfort zone and overcome my most daunting fear of oral presentations. I spoke to my teachers about it, and they encouraged me from day one that I would succeed this year, and they were right. I finished the Diploma with my goal achieved and feeling confident to speak in front of a group of people. I truly thank my teachers for pushing me and being so comforting in times of doubt.
Upon completion of the Diploma of Justice, I plan to formally begin my application process with Victoria Police, one of my biggest goals yet. This course has provided me with a strong foundation and confirmed that I am pursuing the right path and my lifelong dream since I was a kid. I’m motivated for the next chapter and look forward to applying the knowledge and skills I’ve gained as I work toward a career in policing. For me, this qualification is not the finish line, it’s just the beginning!
