I recently migrated to Australia from Pakistan with my husband to start a new chapter in my life.
As a new migrant, I joined English language classes at Kangan Institute to improve my communication skills and confidence, and later enrolled in the Certificate IV in School Based Education Support (CHC40221) course because I enjoy helping others learn and was inspired by my volunteer experience as a teacher assistant.
The best part of my study experience has been gaining confidence, meeting supportive teachers, and building friendships in a welcoming environment.
Free TAFE was a key factor in my decision to enrol, as it allowed me to study without financial pressure and focus on my future.
Currently, my course is challenging but very rewarding, and my teacher’s encouragement motivates me to keep improving. After completing my course, I plan to work as an education support worker in a school and help students, especially migrant students, feel confident and supported in their learning journey.
