Learn the Tools of the Trade

This Light Bus Tester course covers the accreditation component for participants to be aware of and understand their responsibilities in examining Light Buses (LB) Less than 4.5 tonnes in accordance to the VicRoads Requirements.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will include a theory assessment and practical assessment on a Light Bus.

What will I study?

Upon completion of this course you will:

  • be aware of the roadworthy requirements for the type of bus you are working on
  • be able to access information and standards required when completing a roadworthy inspection
  • be able to complete all documentation and access information required to test and examine a bus

An examiners accreditation card and a certificate will be issued to participants who successfully complete the course.

Total fee for this course will be $1950

Entry Requirements
Can I Apply?

To be eligible to attend this course, you must work in a VicRoads accredited Licenced Vehicle Tester business (as specificity authorise to test vehicle category.

Prior to being accepted to attend this course, you will be required to sit a online assessment to assess your Language, Literacy Numeracy (LLN).

You must also:

  • be a qualified motor mechanic with light vehicle experience to VicRoads requirements
  • hold a current Driver Licence

if you are currently not working in a VicRoads accredited Licenced Vehicle Tester (LVT) business or the LVT business is currently yet to have category, you will need to contact the VicRoads Vehicle Safety & Compliance Department and provide us with a letter from VicRoads which allows you to undertake the course.
