Once complete, the new campus will deliver skills and training in areas such as construction, associated trades, digital technologies and more, supporting approximately 800 students per year.
The Campus will provide a vibrant learning environment, giving students access to contemporary equipment and technologies, a broad range of vocational programs, as well as supportive teachers with real-world experience.
Kangan Institute was selected as the TAFE provider to construct and operate the new campus based on its strengths delivering education and training in skills areas that align with high priority jobs for the Melton community and local industry.
Currently without access to a locally based TAFE campus, the City of Melton is the second fastest-growing community in Victoria, with an annual population growth rate of 6.61%, making it the fourth largest-growing municipality in Australia.
Kangan Institute has a strong geographic connection to the region, with its existing campus in Broadmeadows and a new $25 million campus in development for Sunbury, also set to open mid-2028.
The Victorian Government has allocated $55 million in funding to establish the new construction-focused campus through the Building Better TAFE Fund.
Training in Melton to start sooner
Kangan Institute is excited to unveil plans for an early expansion into Melton through a strategic partnership with Western Business Accelerator and Centre for Excellence (BACE).
The partnership will see Kangan Institute deliver a range of interim vocational education and training courses, starting later this year at the Western BACE facility, which is located across the road from the upcoming Kangan Institute Melton Campus. Courses are likely to cover areas like digital and emerging technologies, electrotechnology (pre-apprenticeship) and more.
