Days and Time: Block Release Available. You will attend Campus for one week up to 7 weeks per year. Mon-Fri. Your Apprentice Training Adviser will discuss this with you. For non Apprentices - your schedule will be customised based on your experience.

Course Overview

This course trains people who work with heavy vehicle mobile equipment plant and earthmoving. You will gain the skills and knowledge to competently carry out service, repair and diagnostic procedures.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway. 

There are three streams available in this qualification. Your Apprentice Training Adviser will discuss this with you and your employer.

If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course. You must be registered with an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network and have a signed training contract.

If you are enrolling in this course as a Non Apprentice you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course or have extensive experience in the industry. Pre Enrolment Interview required. Non-apprentices will be offered a position based on their past experience and ability to source additional skills practice.

What employment opportunities will I have?

This course prepares you to perform mechanical work in the automotive heavy vehicle service and repair sector. This course may lead to employment as a Mobile Plant Technician.

What qualifications will I receive?

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (AUR31220). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

What opportunities for further studies will I have?

You may continue on to higher level studies, such as certificate IV or diploma studies.

How do I apply?

Apprentice/Trainees - You will need to have an employer in this industry who is willing to sign you up as an Apprentice. Then contact an Australian Apprentice Support Network office to sign a training contract.
