Education Support Scholarship

Education Support Scholarship is a non-academic scholarship which means you need not have good grades, just passion to want to take the next step in your chosen career path. The scholarships are available across a number of study areas at Kangan Institute to support and develop local students (i.e. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or SCV holder) who may be disadvantaged or face financial barriers to education, offering them another chance to succeed in their studies and career.

This scholarship can provide local students with a waiver or a reduction of their tuition fee/student services/IT fees and may include other related educational expenses. The scholarship amount is determined on a case-by-case basis and is valid for the duration of your study.

Terms and conditions may vary for each department.  Students need to satisfy the course prerequisites and be offered a place in their chosen course before applying for a scholarship.

Applicants under the age of 18 need to obtain parental/guardian consent before submitting a scholarship application. Click on consent form to download the form to be completed and attach to your scholarship application by clicking on the attachment tab at the end of your application.

Unsuccessful applicants will be informed by the Teaching Department as to why they were unsuccessful. However should you require further clarification you may want to contact the teaching department directly.

Students who believe their application has been treated unfairly or who require further assistance, should contact Student Support Services: Email: welfare@kangan.edu.au.

Eligibility:

  • The applicant must be a local student with Australian residency to apply.
  • Applications are accepted anytime from January to December.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by the Teaching Department within two weeks of receiving the scholarship application.

Terms and Conditions:

  • The scholarship can provide a reduction or waiver for material fees and other related educational expense for the year of study at Kangan Institute. These may differ depending on the course that you are applying for. Scholarships will be awarded based on available funding, individual needs, capacity to complete, and acceptance into the course.
  • Application does not mean the applicant will automatically be granted a scholarship.  Your application does not guarantee you a place in your selected course.
  • Deferring the course will make the scholarship void.
  • The scholarship is to be used for one course and cannot be transferred to another course.
  • Scholarships are not redeemable for cash.
  • If a student fails a unit of competency from the course, they will incur any enrolment or other fees associated with resitting that unit.

If the successful student is under the age of 18, the applicant must have permission from their parent/guardian before accepting the terms and conditions of the scholarship.
