Course Overview
This course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to repair trailers and associated systems, within the Heavy vehicle service and repair sector.
All students required to attend on-site learning must be fully vaccinated in line with Kangan Institute’s Vaccination Policy
If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.

You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessments may include written, oral or practical assessment methods.

Free TAFE and JobTrainer courses only: Students eligible for Free TAFE receive the tuition rate free. Students eligible for JobTrainer pay 20% of the tuition. Materials, consumables and student services fees are payable by all students and do not receive a JobTrainer discount, however concession rates for student services fees are available for concession card holders, apprentices, trainees and 100% off campus delivery courses. What employment opportunities will I have?
This course will prepare you to perform mechanical work in the automotive heavy vehicle service and repair sector. This course may lead to employment as a Heavy Commercial Trailer Technician.
If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.
If you are enrolling in this course as a NON apprentice, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Trailer Technology (AUR31820). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
Further opportunities in the automotive industry may include certificate IV or diploma courses.
