TWED Students Showcase Creations at Short Film Festival

Kangan Institute’s Transition and Work Education (TWED) students showcased their very own short films at the TWED short film festival on Wednesday 21 October and Thursday 29 October. This event was held at the Broadmeadows campus auditorium.

With nearly 200 people in attendance over both nights, the festival featured films produced by the students that chronicle their learning experiences. From drama and humour to documentaries and creative pieces, the screening kept audiences entertained from start to finish.

“Both evenings went very well and there was much positive feedback and enthusiastic applause,” said Susan Siebel, Kangan Institute’s foundation skills and pathways teacher.

The creative minds behind the short films are currently completing either the Certificate I in Transition Education (22129VIC) or the Certificate I in Work Education (22128VIC). These courses help provide employment and life skills for people with a mild intellectual or learning disability.
